🥳 since 12/21, I feel the new year running a very vibey current. This is obvi despite any number of awful news events. Humanity feels like we are gearing up to reassert our most potent gifts. My prayer for us 🙏🏽 So grateful to be here for the ride. So many lovely family and friends moments this season, thank you for visiting and making it bright during the darkest days! 🥰I was going to practice this breath exercise that’s in tune with the season, figured I’d share. The annual exhale ends at the winter solstice. The pinnacle of the inhale is the summer solstice. We’re in that part of the cycle just before the end of the exhale that’s perfect for clearing out, and landing with what’s essential. We’ve come in off of a busy summer and preparing for winter, and we are sliding into home base with the last effort before pause. Feel the inertia as you wind down and land in stillness. Even if just for one or two breaths. Give yourself one second to forget everything you know and arrive exactly where you are and feel how that feels with every part of you. 🫶🏽 haven’t done this in a minute 🥰Wild & beautiful month full of friends and work and play and sourdough! So lucky to be with 💜 @megfinkelflowerlab in Taos to work on our land 💕 and to visit epic Big Sur with sister @emiliasana , to be at lovely @tiffanypersons birthday celebration, and made my@first loaf from the almost 40 year old sourdough starter my big sister @elizaleighb and Steven gave me when I visited their Virginia oasis. Stopped at @dwpbelmont ‘s house on the way to Taos, and managed to catch Tim and Kate at Manzanita market for lunch just before they left 💛@pumarose gave me and Chris a beautiful actual photo print of her backstage at the 2020 Mark Jacobs show. I missed the celebration of Ken and Flo Jacobs life, but count myself so lucky to have known them and had their education on art and life thanks to Aza. Chris got home after 4 months of tour and I don’t even have any photos of that because I’m too busy being present 🫶🏽 here’s to some very bright days in this dark season. Official last month countdown to winter solstice when the winter begins, but the sun also begins its annual waxing toward us. I find this month to be one of the most challenging every year, as there’s a sense of sitting on my hands not to rush into the next season before I properly sit still and integrate this one.The Fall again. Time to surrender to gravity and integrate the year and all that’s added up to now. So that I can release it all and begin fresh from where I am, leading into the waxing light of the new year when winter solstice comes. Autumn in Topanga.
